Just like in a movie

Car chase and shooting, reminiscent of a scene from a movie, unfolded shortly after noon in the heart of Limassol.

The chase began in Kalo Horio in Limassol, when the car of a 40-year-old man, suspected in theft, was blocked by police cars. The offender initially slowed down but then darted off slipping out of the cordon. Limassol police station got informed of the situation and the cops tried to block the passage to Palodia, however, the suspect at breakneck speeds has literally scattered police cars, breaking through the their blockade.

The patrol continued to haunt him in Limassol. At the roundabout of Agias Filas, "Schumachersuspect" damaging ten police cars and ordinary citizens, was able to cross into the oncoming traffic lane. The police motorcycle was able to perform a similar maneuver and in-spite of the fact that the suspect was repeatedly trying to knock him down, the policeman still managed to disarm and arrest him at the Limassol-Troodos highway.

The chase resulted in two policemen and a woman with a child getting slightly injured. The latter were given first aid. According to police, in the car of a 43-year-old man, gold watch, chainlets and other valuables were found.
